He basically came from a geneal line of longer living men, different from the men of the Middle Earth (coming to think of it, middle as in between the Northern lands he is from and what else is down south, and possible east to west), so this actually makes so much sense.

This was the perfect ending to all that the story was building up. Its Miles metaphor for coming out to his parents. It works so spectacularly well for Spider-Man that I couldn't really care less. The 13 seconds and then the extra seconds with Prowler Miles before we see his face is what builds up the tension. Then, the payoff is what mKes this cliffhanger so intense and leans into the perfect build-up for the next film. It's like the Two towers cliffhanger, but it's more fully realized and narratively complete. It concludes the two leads and their arcs, leaving the characters that were introduced to be concluded in the next film as they were side characters in this film. The main villain arc was completed as was the heroe's and now the new one can begin in the next one. The filmmakers knew what they were doing and it shows.

I have a different take. I found Silco's motives obscure, and I wondered if he took in Powder to keep getting back at Vander. Killing him wasn't revenge enough - using her to do his dirty work and letting her get away with murder (literally) was the surest way to destroy her. If she had gone back to Vi, she could have been redeemed. If Silco had to die, he could stick it to Vander one last time by seeing to it that Vander's daughter was irredeemable. Maybe I'm overthinking it, but that's what I wonder.

I love how Studio Ghibli characters, regardless of sex, gender, age and even species, all feel so human. They have human traits, not defined by their stereotypes and that feel so refreshing to see, like Miyazaki writes the soul of the character first then writes their gender and other stuff..they feel somewhat mytical and nearly other-worldly in that sense. Like his characters, both villians and heros, feel like angels and other fantasy leaning living things than like people.

In the scene where she brings an empty plate thingie, I was like "Vi! Don't react!" Then she does and I knew we are not getting a happy ending.

I was thinking about this yesterday after a rewatch of the show. They don't go to make a statement about men women or race. Everyone has a look at face value and then everyone also has deep character when you look deep into them. It doesn't matter if they are white black asian, it didn't matter if they were a masculine man feminine man masculine woman or feminine woman. They were just real. I loved it through and through. Also all those annoying WOKE TROPES don't show here like not showing a man beat a woman, not showing a mans status being over a womans, not having a man manipulate a woman, not having a light character be shown over a dark character, they didn't have one specific race or gender be the brunt of the jokes. Everyone shared equally in all things. High moments, low moments, who they lost to who they beat, and best of all it was all believable within the universe. Of course the bad bitch vi can box her dad was one of the best boxers, look at her build, of course Jinx would have to find alternative ways to fight, shes much smaller, of course the big guy with goggles is tossing people around while the small one is scrappy like it just makes sense.
